Holy Cross 6-A side Football tournament returns as Supremo Chashak 2017
Registrations for the Supremo Chashak 2017 6-A side football tournament is now open, with teams from all over the city invited to participate.
Holy Cross Football Club (Kurla) are all set to bring back their well-known 6-A side Open Football Tournament this November. The highly successful tournament has been garnering a huge crowd every year from the nearby locality and is now all set to return to Holy Cross Ground, Kurla.
The Tournament is scheduled to be played on 12th November and 19th November 2017. “We are welcoming teams from all over Mumbai and its suburbs to participate in this Tournament,” Holy Cross Football Club announced.
The locality has a very good footballing culture and the enthusiasm of people can be clearly visible with huge turnouts that are seen during the game. Many talented footballers have grown up playing the game around here with Indian International Steven Dias, a notable personality among them.
‘Supremo Foundation’ – an NGO established for looking after financially poor people with their chronic disease treatment, has come forward to sponsoring the event this year. An initiative of Mr. Sanjay Potnis, Supremo Foundation has been instrumental in encouraging sports as well, organizing various tournaments and sponsoring talented players. Harris shield record scorer Prithvi Shaw and Kabbadi star Rishank Devadika are some of the stars of Supremo Foundation.
The entry fee for the tournament is just Rs. 2000 with the winning team getting Rs. 30,000 as prize money along with a trophy. Apart from cash prize to the winners and runners up team, various individual awards will also be given.
